Perfect Spring weekend

One lovely spring weekend in England, combined with a Chocolate festival arriving made for a very happy H. Lazing in the sun and gorging on churros and chocolate, piles of sticky, chewy, marshmallowy meringue, portuguese custard tarts and some truly delectable lemon and cherry tarts. A late afternoon stroll down the river and a pint of cider before dashing home and hosting friends for a relaxed evening and delicious spring vegetable lasagne (thanks Jamie). Sleep and repeat, lazing in the sun only eventually rousing myself to go for an early evening stroll through a daffodil strewn park. Finishing the weekend with a carpet picnic of spaghetti puttanesca. Truly a perfect spring weekend.

A great piece of art...

Loving the effect that these pieces of art have on the room, unfortunately not feasible in my current space but working away on my gallery wall.

Monday's Muse - Oracle Fox edition

I think I can track my current obsession with getting to Hawaii back to Oracle Fox's time there last year. The perfect blog for inspiration from sunnier climes and for making me question my dark brunette hair. Just the thing to get my Monday started with a smile, despite the typical English weather.

Greyscale

Even in spring England seems to delight in providing those grey, drizzly days. So, whilst I may dream of the first look, cozying up in boucle layers and lace is the most practical way to keep the slight chill and damp out. Although if I had a space like the above, going out and leaving it may be difficult, it looks perfect to relax with a coffee and a good book or to enjoy the company of family and friends.

Friday 16 March 2012

It's friday and this is what's making me smile....

My walk to uni everyday which now consists of walking along daffodil lined paths and fields filled with lambs... Its finally beginning to feel like spring people, best feeling ever!

And after what seems like the most hectic couple of weeks filled with deadlines, interviews and general stress I am so ready for this weekend... Instead of partying till the small hours tonight I am happily staying in with a classic book, chilled music and amazing food (inspired by the Masterchef finals this week)...

I plan on doing this for the rest weekend as well as finishing all my last essays before the end of... Hope you all have a happy weekend...

Cats eye

I'm a confirmed and committed Wayfarer-warer, but recently I've been tempted by a more feline, exaggerated shape. The only problem is that no matter how many pairs I had tried on and played with nothing seemed to work on my face, but I refused to give in or take the hint and stayed on the the hunt. And last week I think I found them!
Say hello to Whistle's Tortoiseshell Ultra Cats Eye...

Now I just have to wait for payday to roll around!
